We are looking forward to this first visit from Jessica in June 2016 when she will be introducing us to her Art of Breathing.
Jessica Wolf’s Art of Breathing integrates the contributions that F.M Alexander and Carl Stough made in the field of respiratory science. Alexander was known as “the breathing man” and Stough was often called “Dr. Breath.” There is no better way for teachers to stay with themselves than to have an on-going awareness of their breathing coordination.
There is an art to breathing; it exists when our breath is in perpetual motion. F.M. Alexander believed that practicing prevention allowed for “a marvelous efficiency of the respiratory machine.”
Jessica Wolf, M.AmSAT, has had a private teaching practice in New York City for over three decades and she is an assistant professor at Yale School of Drama.
